What is a public contract award?
A public contract award is the decision by a contracting authority to give a contract to a supplier at the end of a procurement procedure. It is usually published as a contract award notice.
Where does European contract award data come from?
Tenderwize uses contract award notices published on TED (Tenders Electronic Daily), the EU's official procurement journal, and links them to buyer and supplier profiles.
Can I see which company won a public tender?
Usually, yes. Most award notices name the winning supplier for each awarded lot. Open an award to see the winner and follow the link to its contractor profile.
Does an award notice always include the final contract value?
No. Contracting authorities may omit or withhold the value, report only an estimate, or publish a framework ceiling rather than actual spend. Treat reported values as indicative.
Can contract awards help identify upcoming tenders?
Yes. Contracts with a known duration are often re-tendered when they expire, and buyers that award similar contracts regularly tend to buy again. Award history is a useful signal for planning.
What is the difference between a tender notice and a contract award notice?
A tender (contract) notice invites suppliers to bid on an open opportunity. A contract award notice is published afterwards and reports who won. To find open opportunities, use the tender search.
