A Compliance Management Information System (CMIS) is a comprehensive digital system which supports all aspects of an organisation’s regulatory, compliance, quality management. It is made up of a number of different modules and functionalities, each one enables the user to carry out a specific type of activity, e.g. document management, non-conformance or audit actions. Using a CMIS allows a proactive rather than reactive approach to managing processes, as a result of improved document management and communications of related tasks. A CMIS solution is required to support, at a minimum, the development, configuration, integration, migration, management, review, analysis and reporting of data relating to quality and patient safety activities.
