The contracting authority assesses that climate and environmental considerations in this procurement are best taken care of through obligatory requirements in the requirement specifications and contract terms, rather than as a weighted award criteria. The most important environmental impact of the procurement is particularly related to transport, urgent and extra deliveries, packaging/transport boxes, return schemes and handling medicines for destruction. The contracting authority estimates that absolute requirements directed at these conditions will give better and more predictable climate and environmental effect than a judgemental evaluation of the tenderers ́ descriptions. The requirements will be binding for the tenderer for the entire contract period and can be followed-up through reporting and contract follow-up. Climate and environmental considerations are therefore not evaluated as a separate award criterion. The considerations are instead taken care of through obligatory climate and environmental requirements in the requirement specifications and the accompanying contract terms, cf. the procurement regulations § 7-9 fourth paragraph.
