Die TU Dortmund benötigt zur Erweiterung von zwei Gebäuden zusätzliche Netzwerkkomponenten: Zu einen ist dies die sanierte Experimentierhalle Physik, zum anderen die Neuanmietung "Hansa-Carré" in der Innenstadt. Darüber hinaus werden Komponenten als Ausfallreserve benötigt. Durch einen geänderten Wartungsvertrag ist es für die TU wirtschaftlicher, diese Komponenten für den Fall eines Ausfalls selber vorzuhalten.
