Afin de favoriser l'optimisation de la gestion des déchets issus des services techniques communaux de plusieurs communes, la Métropole de Grenoble avait accompagné à partir de 2022 plusieurs communes de la Métropole avec la création d'un groupement de commandes pour la passation d'un marché public de traitement des déchets. Néanmoins le montant maximum alloué à la ville de Grenoble et le tonnage prévu étaient sous dimensionnés et a conduit à l'atteinte du montant maximum du marché avant la date de fin de celui-ci au 31 octobre 2027. Il convient donc de relancer un marché pour la ville
