DPS:n kohteena ovat lain tietoturvallisuuden arviointilaitoksista (1405/2011) mukaisten hyväksyttyjen tietoturvallisuuden arviointilaitosten tuottamat arviointipalvelut. DPS:n keston aikana kaikki kiinnostuneet ehdokkaat voivat tehdä siihen osallistumishakemuksen. DPS on voimassa hankintailmoituksessa ilmoitettuun päivään asti, ellei sitä keskeytetä tai muuteta DPS:n voimassa ollessa. Hansel Oy:n asiakkaat toteuttavat hankinnat DPS:ään hyväksyttyjen ehdokkaiden kesken DPS:n sisäisillä kilpailutuksilla, jotka voivat ajoittua DPS:n koko hankintavaiheen ajalle. DPS:n hankintavaihe alkaa perustamisvaiheen jälkeen 1.11.2021 ja päättyy DPS:n voimassaoloajan päättyessä. Hankintasopimukset voivat olla voimassa enintään viisi (5) vuotta.
