Für eine Instandsetzung in den ursprünglichen Zustand sind Arbeiten an der Karosserie, des Innenausbaus, der Elektrik, den Drehgestellen, der Lackierung und eine vollständige Inbetriebnahme notwendig. Alle erforderlichen Bauteile, Baugruppen und Messblätter für eine vollständige Instandsetzung müssen durch den externen Dienstleister bereitgestellt werden. Die Schadbahn wird von Dresden zum AN transportiert, dort die beschädigten Wagenteile instandgesetzt und anschließend zurück nach Dresden überführt.
