Im Rahmen von diversen Projekten wird eine universelle digitale Entwicklungsplattform für breitbandige Phased-Array Anwendungen erforderlich. Diese muss von einem Unternehmen konzipiert und hergestellt werden, die auf mehrkanalige digitale Signal- und Datenverarbeitungs-Hardware spezialisiert ist. Insbesondere sind hohe Abtastraten, breitbandige Signalverarbeitung und eine sehr flexible Multi-Kanal Konfiguration gefordert. Die detaillierten Anforderungen an das Gerät basieren auf einer konzeptionellen Vorarbeit und daraus resultierenden Überlegungen zur Hardware-Architektur. In dieser Leistungsbeschreibung wird daher eine Systemstruktur vorgegeben, welche auf eine vom AG geplante wissenschaftliche Nutzung angepasst ist. Von dieser Struktur kann abgewichen werden, wenn die technischen Vorteile transparent dargelegt werden können.
