Die BäderBetriebe Frankfurt GmbH plant für den Neubau des Rebstockbad Frankfurt einen Teil des Wärmebedarfs durch Geothermie zu decken. Hierfür ist ein mehrschichtiges System geplant. Ein flaches 100 m Erdwärmesonden (EWS) Feld aus 16 Sonden im nördlichen Teil des Grundstücks wurde zum Kühlen in den Sommermonaten errichtet. Des Weiteren werden derzeit zwei 399 m tiefe Sondenfelder errichtet, um etwa ein Drittel des jährlichen Wärmebedarfs bereitzustellen. Dabei handelt es sich um 9 EWS im Nordfeld und 11 weitere EWS im Südfeld. Jedes Feld wird an eine Wärmepumpe angeschlossen, um die gewonnene Erdwärme auf das erforderliche Vorlauftemperaturniveau zu bringen. Diese Ausschreibung befasst sich mit der Rückverfüllung der bereits existierenden, 1.060 m tiefen, Forschungsbohrung auf dem Gelände bis auf 850 m, und den darauffolgenden Umbau zu einer 850 m tiefen Koaxialsonde. Die gewonnene Wärme dient dann zur Regeneration des 399 m tiefen Südfeldes.
