Der Ausschreibungsgegenstand umfasst die Auslegung, Fertigung und Lieferung einer Niedertemperatur Polymerelektrolytbrennstoffzelle + dazugehörige Subsysteme als gesamtes Brennstoffzellensystem. Die Brennstoffzelle wird als Hauptkomponente des Projekts „EENOK-Systementwurf“ beschafft. Die Grundidee besteht darin, einen emissionsfreien Energiecontainer auf Basis von Wasserstoff- und Brennstoffzellentechnologie zu entwickeln, der zusammen mit einer Batterie und Stromrichtern die erforderliche Energie bereitstellt, um die Emissionen der durch den Kieler Kanal fahrenden Schiffe zu reduzieren.
