Im Norden von Stuttgart wird auf ca. 17 ha das Neubaugebiet Schafhaus in Mühlhausen in einem topografisch anspruchsvollen Bereich entwickelt. Es grenzt unmittelbar an die bestehende Siedlungsfläche von Mühlhausen an. Im Neubaugebiet sollen ca. 700 neue Wohneinheiten im Geschosswohnungsbau, eine Grundschule, mehrere Kindertagesstätten, ein Quartiershaus mit verschiedenen sozialen Infrastruktureinrichtungen sowie hochwertige Grün- und Freiflächen entstehen. Ziel der Beauftragung ist es, wichtige Planungsgrundlagen für die Planung der Frei- und Verkehrsanlagen zu sammeln. Insbesondere zur Verkehrserzeugung durch die Aufsiedlung des Neubaugebiets Schafhaus, die dadurch notwendige Dimensionierung des ruhenden Verkehrs sowie die Leistungsfähigkeitsuntersuchung von Knotenpunkten und die Verkehrsmodellierung im Null- und Planfall sind wichtige Planungsparameter.
