De werkzaamheden bestaan uit het reinigen en inspecteren van kolken en lijngoten in de openbare ruimte. Het reinigen en inspecteren wordt in 2 rondes gedaan, een grote ronde en een kleine ronde. Slib, zand en afval worden verwijderd om een goede afwatering te waarborgen. Eventuele gebreken of verstoppingen worden tijdens de inspectie gemeld aan de opdrachtgever. De Opdracht als omschreven betreft het gehele werkgebied van de gemeente. Buiten de opdracht vallen de kolken en lijngoten op gemeentelijke terreinen. De Opdracht is niet onderverdeeld in (gebieds)percelen. De grote ronde betreft jaarlijks ongeveer 29.500 kolken en geen lijngoten. De kleine ronde betreft jaarlijks ongeveer 9.000 kolken en 2.000 meter lijngoten.
