The shut-down installations are Helle, Kil, Kragerø, Kirkesund and Stabbestad. In addition to the closure of the five plants, the new facility shall have the capacity to receive sewage water from a further two private treatment facilities as well as for some further development. The new facility is planned with a capacity of 30,000 PE and it shall fulfil treatment requirements for phosphor removal, secondary purification and nitrogen purification. In addition space shall be set aside for quartz cleaning.
